• In 2010, according to the American magazine Time, the Fabrican aerosol fabric of cotton fibers and polymers with solvents, which hardens on the body after application, was among the best inventions of the year. The designers of Imperial College London and the Royal College of Art (United Kingdom) have become the developers of the new generation fabric. Sprays are available in different colors. According to experts, this technology is very promising and can be used for the production of not only clothing.

• In 2014, the new eco-friendly building material FluidSolids, developed by the Swiss designer Beat Carrer, won the Design Prize Switzerland award, and in 2015 received the equally prestigious MATERIALICA award. FluidSolids is a composite material consisting of fibers, binders and filling components. All components of the new biopolymer are waste from the processing of natural raw materials, that is, the building material is biodegradable and environmentally friendly. FluidSolids has good elasticity, but at the same time is quite strong, easily melts and has a low weight, so that it can be used to create various building elements and design structures. In 2015, the material was put into mass production in China.

• In 2015, a new building material (special wood-laminate plastic) that responds to the level of air humidity was presented by a British Royal College of Art designer student. New bioplastic independently unbends at high humidity of air or soil, and is curtailed, if air becomes dry. According to the developer, this material can be used as protection from the sun or precipitation.
